Lucy wanted to hold this fundraising event, as she has been so grateful for the support and help Chamwell has given her and her family.
Lucy tells us, "My family and I benefit so much from Chamwell - it is a friendly and beautiful place where we feel comfortable and welcome. That means so much to us at the moment whilst we are going through an extremely difficult time. Our youngest daughter is 10 months old and is very developmentally delayed and has a severe sight impairment and hypotonia. We are still waiting for a diagnosis.
The team, especially Marie and Gabriela, have been very supportive and helpful. It is so good to be shown what exercises to do to help my daughter to get stronger and to be able to practice these in the pool and not feel awkward doing so. Meeting other families there that have been and are currently going through similar difficulties is also helpful. It is clear that many other families are benefiting so much too.
My family and I wanted to support The Chamwell Centre by holding a fund raising event. We are grateful to those who helped to make it a really lovely and successful day. We were delighted to have raised over £4000 and it gave me great pleasure to hand that over to the centre."
